The Coalition for an Effective African Court and the Open Society Justice Initiative has taken the lead to campaign against this threat. NGOs and other interested persons are being urged to send petitions to the African Union (AU) to move the seat of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) from The Gambia in order to secure the lives of people who have to work with the ACHPR.
