The Coalition for an Effective African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the African Court Coalition/Coalition) will be carrying out a sensitization mission in Banjul, the Gambia from 3 to 12 April 2016 in line with the 58th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the Commission).

The African Court Coalition plans to meet one-on-one with state representatives during the Commission Session in order to increase the understanding and acceptance of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Establishment of an African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the African Court Protocol) by AU members.

During the mission, the African Court Coalition will have an opportunity to attend the NGOs Forum preceding the Commission session, engage in Civil Society Organization activities on the margin, network with other Human Rights stakeholders and recruit new members to join the Coalition in line with its campaign ‘’Bring Two’’..

The mission aims at;
* increasing understanding and acceptance of the African Court Protocol by AU member states;
* increasing membership of the Coalition and strengthen the Coalition as a network;

The mission is the continuation of the African Court Coalition missions in the margins of the Commission ordinary sessions to have an effective African Court and strengthen the Coalition as network..
